News About The Astound Packs A Turned-Off NFC Chip
An upcoming technology named NFC is actually on its way to the real fame. Although for now the tech doesn’t offer something wow to smartphones’ users, a big hope has been laid upon it that someday the technology will greatly improve mobile payment that you don’t even need to bring your credit card with you. The good news is in spite of the Symbian 3 which is not really favorable among smartphones’ OS, the Nokia Astound turns out to bear this technology under its hood.
It was at CTIA 2011 that’s just left us for few days, attendees had a chance to taste how this stuff would actually work in the future. They were presented with 500 Nokia C7s featuring the bCard Reader technology, which allows for scanning their ID tags when networking. Now it is reported that the Astound, bound to T-mobile is also sporting this feature but because of some reasons, you’ll have to turn it on manually.
“The Nokia Astound includes an NFC chip and the device software supports its functionality. The Astound will ship with NFC turned off, but a user can enable it by entering the device settings and turning it on.“
Considering that there is no a lot of things you can do with NFC technology today, I think we should admit that the decision is quite wise. Besides, it will help you prevent any battery power loss for something unnecessary.
