Verizon has announced the Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx, bringing extended battery life to the same 8.99mm-thin body, and a new purple version of the original Droid RAZR.
With a thickness of merely 8.99mm, it is like a paper in your pocket. The size may be slim, but the features and the specs of the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX are certainly a tough match for some of the other leading mobile manufacturers. In addition, its stainless steel body makes this device quite durable and gives it a sturdy feel. With a 4.3 inches TFT touchscreen on the face of it and a smart textured plate on the back of it, this smartphone is really smart. The device works quite smoothly and the applications run like a breeze and the reason is that RAZR MAXX comes with a Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 processor and PowerVR SGX540 graphics processor.
The new Motorola Razr Maxx keeps the 1.2GHz dual-core Texas instruments OMAP processor, the Super AMOLED Advanced screen, Android 2.3.5, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and, as this is initially launching in the US, a 4G radio.
The boost in battery from 1,785mAh to 3,300mAh is a major step up and Motorola is promising 22 hours talk time from a single charge which is more than double what most smartphones deliver.
Another reason for the Verizon subscribers to feel proud of is its 8MP high definition camera on the back of the device with autofocus and integrated LED flashlight. There is another camera on the front which however is limited to 1.3 mega pixels. As for entertainment, the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX is made to perform. High speed internet communication with Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G communication, integrated Google tools and applications, HTML browser with flash add on and support for java applications will keep you indulged in it. The integration of a high quality music player with 16GB internal memory and an additional 16GB microSD external microSD memory included makes this mobile an ultimate data storehouse.
