News About 4G Speeds, Amazing but Still Unsure
Since last year, a lot of commercials promoting the newly invented 4G speeds have been caught by our eyes. Yet, a great uncertainty and confusion has also existed in the society since the news was firstly broadcasted. It happens because each carrier claims that it has the most technically true 4G speeds, ignoring the 4G definition that was announced by the official standards body.
If we give it all back to the official standards body, we may well know that none of those claimed-to-be 4G speeds are technically and theoretically 4G. Yet indeed, they, especially T-mobile’s and Sprint’s 4G devices do show us a better performance of browsing and downloading than the previous 3G speeds — they tout speeds of around 3Mbps to 15Mbps download speeds, which are faster than the typical 3G speeds of 800Kbps to 2Mbps.
In addition, if you’re still not well informed, I’d like to tell you that right now each carrier are proudly showing off their own version of 4G networks. Sprint sides with WiMax, Verizon and MetroPCS are on the LTE route, whereas T-Mobile is placing its bets on HSPA+. Meanwhile, AT&T that also counts on HSDPA+ claims that their technology can make T-mo’s newly invented networks look like a snail. No matter what the official standards body says and no matter which 4G speeds can perform better, most people are still on their old mindset. They think that the real 4G is one that is based on LTE or WiMax, while HSDPA+, though often it can perform better, is considered as an improved 3G networks.
